Practical UI/UX , Website development & deployment

The Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) successfully conducted a productive and insightful learning session on February 21, 2026, at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, focusing on UI/UX Design and Website Development and Deployment.
The first session on UI/UX Design was led by Sir Pedro Flores, who guided participants through essential design principles and practical applications using tools such as Justinmind and Figma. The session emphasized the importance of user-centered design in creating intuitive, engaging, and effective digital experiences.
The second session, covering Website Development and Deployment, was facilitated by Dr. Sufian Bin Idris. Participants gained valuable insights into building functional websites using WordPress and deploying them through InfinityFree. The discussion provided clear, practical steps for transforming design concepts into fully operational and accessible websites.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai for their continued support in making this initiative possible.

Industrial Engineering Statistical Methods Workshop

The Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) successfully conducted the Industrial Engineering Statistical Methods Workshop at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai as part of its continuing professional development initiatives for Filipino Industrial Engineers in the UAE.
The workshop was led by Sir Ely (Eliazar R. Dimalapang), who shared practical insights and expertise on applying statistical methods in industrial engineering and Lean Six Sigma projects. PIIE extends its sincere appreciation to the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, headed by Consul Ms. Aleah Marie Gica, for their strong support in making this learning activity possible.
PIIE also thanks all participants for their active involvement, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning. Their engagement contributed greatly to the success and overall impact of the workshop.
Through activities like this, PIIE continues to strengthen the technical competencies of Industrial Engineers and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and professional excellence within the UAE engineering community.
Industrial Engineering Statistical Method Workshop

The Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) extends its sincere appreciation to all participants of the Industrial Engineering Statistical Methods Workshop held at the Philippine Embassy on January 17, 2026.
Despite demanding work schedules and travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the participants demonstrated strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Their active participation, meaningful discussions and collaborative spirit significantly contributed to the overall success of the workshop.
PIIE expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Sir Eliazar Dimalapang for generously sharing his expertise and practical insights which greatly enriched the learning experience and added substantial value to the session.
The Institute also commends the PIIE UAE Chapter officers Ma’am Romilen Españar, Sir Jeffrey Salonga, Ma’am Lovely Davalos Medina, Ma’am Kheneth Medina, Sir Juan Regalario and PIIE UAE Chapter President Sir Paul Galutira for their excellent organization, teamwork and dedication in delivering a well-executed and productive event.

Data Analytics for Engineers
On October 11 & 18, 2025 the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) – UAE Chapter, in collaboration with Project PINAI led by Raiza Dimapilis Borreo and our training partner Trilogix Training Institute successfully delivered the two-session program “Data Analytics for Engineers.”
The training was facilitated by Dr. Raiza, Lecturer from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) who shared her expertise in making data analytics practical and relevant for engineering applications.
The first session focused on building strong foundations. Participants revisited the core concepts of data analytics, including the differences between data, information and knowledge. common data types structured, unstructured and semi-structured data. The discussion also covered the four types of analytics Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive and Prescriptive and walked through the complete analytics process from problem identification and data collection to preparation, analysis, data mining and visualization.
A key highlight was the demonstration of Tableau, showing how raw data can be transformed into clear, meaningful dashboards that support better engineering decisions.
The second session shifted toward hands-on application using Python and Pandas in Operations Research. Participants explored practical techniques such as data cleaning, handling missing values, managing duplicates and outliers, applying functions to datasets and an introduction to data mining and machine learning. The session emphasized how automation and analytics tools can improve efficiency, accuracy and process optimization.
